ABDULLAHI DIKKO RESIDENCE INVADED BY THE EFCC

The Abuja residence of the immediate past Comptroller General of Customs,Abdullahi Dikko, was invaded by the EFCC on Friday.

It would be recalled that Dikko who happens to be  President Mohammodu Buhari's kinsmman from the same State, voluntarily resigned from his position after the President rejected his congratulatory gift  upon winning the election that brought him  in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria last year.
PUNCH said  there was a heavy deployment of operatives of the anti-graft agency and other security operatives for  the operation including  armed riot policemen attached to the EFCC and gun wielding plainclothes operatives.

According to the newspaper it was gathered that the EFCC was acting on an intelligence report it got to conduct a search on the residence of the former Comptroller General. But it could not be confirmed at this point if Dikko was in the house as there were reports that he is not in the country at the moment.
