A 27-year-old man, Sunday Vincent, has been sentenced to three weeks imprisonment this week Thursday by an Abuja Court for wandering. The Judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, gave the man an option of paying #3000 fine and was warned to desist from committing any crime.
The prosecutor, Zeerah Doglass, told the court that Vincent was picked up by the police patrol team on Jan. 1 at Ademola Adetokunbo street, Wuse two, Abuja, and was taken to Kado Police Station in Abuja.
Vincent whose address was not ascertained, was convicted for wandering around the streets and could not give any satisfactory explanation of what or who he was looking for. An offence said to be punishable under Section 198 of the Penal Code.
