He said his wife had been sick for a while but he never expected the sickness would result in her death. He described his late wife as a sister and the pillar behind him.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has grieved with Stephen Keshi over the loss of his wife, Kate, on Wednesday night.
Amaju Pinnick in a phone call told Keshi, “This is devastating. To lose a spouse is the equivalent of a tragedy. I pray that Almighty God will give you and the children the fortitude to bear this huge loss,” reports said.
The President of the association , Amaju Pinnick was said to have spoken with Keshi on the phone on Thursday afternoon when he heard about the tragic incident.
Keshi said however that the burial arrangements will be announced soon.
