The Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Momoh Jimoh has been impeached. Out of the 25 members in the State House of Assembly (11 APC and 14 PDP members), 17 members endorsed the Speaker's impeachment. A new speaker has however been appointed.
The Speaker was accused of financial recklessness and misconduct.
Report said the impeached Speaker and the new elected Governor of the state are from the same Local Government Area,therefore, the impeachment may be connected with the need to ensure power power balance in the state, .
