PDP: OSUN GOVERNOR TO SQUANDER #50MILLION ON XMAS DECORATIONS

Osun state PDP through its director of media and publicity, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, on Sunday accused Governor Rauf Aregbesola's approval of #50 million for xmas decorations and fireworks in the state metropolis as lavish.

In the statement, PDP stated that squandering a sum of #50 million on fireworks and decorations of the state capital, Oshogbo and some other major towns in the state by Aregbesola when the workers of the state are on half salary for the past 5months is preposterous and extravagant and a mismanagement of the people "scarce resources" as well as  a corny way of allowing some people to hide behind the the contract "to steal the public funds."

Ogbeni Aregbesola was thereby advised not to use this means to waste public funds and suspend the plan if indeed no one is going to benefit from the proceeds claiming that Osun State has nothing to celebrate  or  rejoice over at this moment; what is needed now is the payment of workers salaries so that they can care for themselves and their  families.

The PDP Osun Chapter also said, it could no longer afford to stand by and watch the Governor misappropriate public funds and  has now taken it upon itself  to call him to order.
