3 Nigerian young men were recently arrested in India for gang-raping a 19-year-old woman.Two of the woman’s friends were also arrested for the part they took in the rape incident. The rape victim, according to Delhi Police report, is a student of Punjab University who was in Delhi for vacation in her brother's place.The report says that two married women, Rhiya and Sheela, who also happen to be the victim's friends took her out pretending they were going to a party and then go for shopping afterwards but the two women allegedly lured the victim into a house where the 3 Nigerians were staying. She said “ soon after the men started misbehaving with her and started touching her inappropriately. When she resisted, they overpowered her and then gang-raped her."
According to the victim in her statement,she said the 3 Nigerian men raped her after physical harassment but managed to escape from the place and contacted her brother. And the incident was reported to the officials at Uttam Nagar police station.
All the accused persons including the two women have been arrested by the police and one of the Nigerian men is identified as Nwachorudo Charles Echejohn aged 33, while the identities of the other two accused Nigerians are not known yet.
