MAN MEET HIS DEATH TRYING TO STEAL ELECTRICITY CABLE

Képtalálat a következőre: „images of symbols of electricity dangers”Alhaji Muhammad Gidado, the traditional ruler of Dan Iyar Unguwar Rimi, confirmed that a man trying to steal electric cable at a power supply installation was electrocuted on Sunday at Accra Crescent beside LEA Primary School at Unguwar Rimi, Kaduna.
The traditional ruler said that the corpse of the man was evacuated by the police from Unguwar Rimi Division. He said, the vandal was a stranger in the area and urged law enforcement agencies to step-up patrol as the community has suffered from the activities of vandals lately. And that the dead man was trying to steal the 150mm four core up-riser cable at the distribution center in Accra Crescent when he met his untimely death.

Mr Abdulazeez Abdullahi,the Head, Corporate Communications of Kaduna Electric, the operator of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, who also confirmed the incident warned criminal elements to desist from damaging or removing power supply equipment as the consequence could be very tragic. Meanwhile, the police said it was investigating the incident with a view to arresting the collaboartors of the act and preventing reoccurence.

He also appealed to customers of the company to be more vigilant and report suspicious movement around power supply installations to the police, especially in the night. Abdullahi lamented that the activities of these hoodlums was causing set back to the company’s effort at providing steady power supply to its customers.
