FRANCE CLOSED A RADICAL MOSQUE

A suspected radical mosque was shut down by the police in the east of Paris in a huge security operation on Wednesday which happen to be the third mosque to be closed since last terror attacks in Paris on November 13, a step taken as part of huge security against further attacks in the country.

France Interior Minister, Bernard Cazeneuve said “three pseudo-cultural associations” linked to the mosque at Lagny-sur-Marne were also dissolved, this being the first time the government of the country will take such action on such groups.

“Such measures to close mosques because of radicalisation have never before been taken by any government, including during the last state of emergency in 2005” after rioting broke out across France’s troubled suburbs," Cazeneuve said

There were 2 other mosques closed down last week at Gennevilliers in the Paris northern suburbs and in L’Arbresle near the central city of Lyon.

Cazeneuve said a 9-millimetre revolver was discovered during the raid and a “leaders” of the mosque has been arrested; 22 people banned from leaving France; and 9 others placed under house arrest. Also found was an illegal koranic school as well as a hidden computer hard disk.

Properties of Imam Mohamed Hammoumi's, "the clergy who was in charge of the mosque and the cultural associations until he left to live in Egypt in 2014," were seized in April.

Interestingly. a pig head was said to have been found in front of a Muslim prayer room on Tuesday at a place called Ecquevilly in the Yvelines west of Paris.
