An honorable State House of Assembly member representing Egor constituency Edo State, Mr. Crosby Eribo while addressing newsmen at his birthday party during the weekend, in Benin City, says Governor Adams Oshiomhole is making efforts to make himself a political godfather in the state if the rumour that he endorsed Mr Godwin Obaseki as candidate of the APC, in the 2016 governorship election in the state was true.
He said Oshiomole had helped to nib "godfatherism" in the the bud in the sate and that the Governor "also believes in the mantra of let the people lead and that has changed the politics of Edo State. So, I don’t see the governor now coming to make himself another godfather by anointing somebody unknown to us. We have come to the level where we now have the opportunity to choose who we want.”
Eribo however stressed that APC members would choose, and not just a particular leader, would impose a governorship candidate for the party in the state, and warned that doing so would result in crisis in the party in the Edo State.
