NIGERIAN-BRITON, CHUKA UMUANNA RE-ELECTED IN UK


Chuka, son of Patricia, a Solicitor and daughter of Sir Helenus Milmo QC, the Anglo-Irish High Court Judge.

His father, Bennett Umunna, an Igbo man from Nigeria died in 1992 in a road accident in his Home country Nigeria.

He was awarded an upper second class LLB in English and French Law from the University of Manchester; after graduating he studied for one term at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, before studying for an MA at Nottingham Law School.

Chuka Umunna, current shadow business secretary won big in his Streatham Constituency, winning 53 per cent of the votes cast. He polled 26, 474 votes, untroubled by both the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats candidates. The Conservative candidate got 12,540 votes and Lib. Dem, 4,491.
