KOGI ELDERS BEGS FALEKE TO ACCEPT ELECTION OUTCOME AS GOD'S VERDICT

An influential socio-political leadership forum in Kogi West , Kogi state, has called on the Deputy Governor-Elect, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke to accept the outcome of the Kogi governorship election as God’s way of answering the prayers of the Kogi West people for power rotation, following the outcome of the Kogi election drama.

From an extra-ordinary meeting at Obajana, the industrial headquarters of Kogi West, the group, Kogi West Elders Committee said it was prepared to prevail on Faleke to work harmoniously with the Governor-Elect, Alh. Yahaya Bello to effect the desired change in Kogi State.

The Committee called on political stakeholders from both Central and West to accept and abide by the decision of the APC leadership which favours the age long agitation for power rotation in the state.

It said it would be a betrayal of the interest of the Kogi West and Kogi Central people if the present opportunity is lost to infighting among the oppressed

Kogi West is made up of Lokoja, Kogi/Koto, Kabba/Bunu, Ijumu, Mopamuro, Yagba East and Yagba West Local Government Areas..

According to a communique signed by Chief Richard Asaje, Migbole Samuel and Mohammed Musa reads, “That we accept the divine intervention of God for granting us the desired power shift or power rotation.

“That the West and Central senatorial districts have agreed to stand on the path of unity and hold on the two positions of governor and deputy governor bestowed on us by God."

“That we declare our solemn and total support for the governor-elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and ensure his success; otherwise his failure is ours and not his.”

Powerful meeting had in attendance by Chief Richard Asaje, Commodore Folusho Daniel (rtd), Asiwaju Idris Asiru, Mr. Mohammed Musa and other political leaders from Kogi West.
