The woman got a huge buffalo hump on her back from heavy consumption of alcohol for 40 year.
The woman is believed to be suffering from a rare condition called Madelung disease which is usually characterized by the growth of fatty tumors around upper body. The confused patient admitted she is a heavy-drinker and it’s almost a year she is not able to leave the house as her muscles became extremely weak and was aware of her deformities since five years ago and said she did not seek medical attention since they do not affect her physically.

Medical tests revealed that the patient also had fatty liver disease and ketoacidosis, a rare and life-threatening condition, for which she was treated immediately.
After carrying out an internet search on the symptoms they diagnosed her with Madelung disease.Madelung disease is very rare with an estimated incidence rate of 1 in 25,000 and affects males up to 30 times more frequently than females. It is associated with alcohol abuse, diabetes, fat disorders, liver disease and people of Mediterranean ancestry.
Treatment required normally for Madelung disease surgiery, however, doctors have offered liposuction and abstinence from alcohol as an option. But the woman refused a surgery but agreed to stop drinking, which could halt the disease’s progression.
