One of the pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Ayo Raphael, has been abducted during Sunday service at Resurrection parish of the RCCG in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, by some unknown persons.
An eyewitnesses who spoke in anonymity, said the kidnappers who were 10 in number stormed the
church auditorium at about 9 in the morning ordering the congregation to lie face down and dragged the pastor out into the bush while shooting into the air simultaneously.
Many members of the parish were reported to have sustained injuries while attempting to hide when the kidnappers were shooting, though no lives were lost.
It was also gathered that the kidnappers had contacted the church, demanding #50 million as ransom for the releasing the pastor.
The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said he had yet to be briefed about the incident.
