The minister said there are packages for the families of the soldiers who fell in battles already but that there is an introduction of "death insurance" package recently introduced by President Buhari "which has not been done before," to boost the morale of the military men as well as ensure that "the families of the fallen heroes" are properly cared for.
He said the military is getting a upper hand in the ongoing fight against insurgency and expressed optimism that Boko Haram would soon be forgotten in Nigeria with people's prayers.
This was said at the Special Juma’at Prayer to mark the 2016 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in Abuja. While the Deputy Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Sheikh Ahmad Onilewura, prayed for the victory of the armed forces over the forces of evil in the country in the Juma’at Prayer.
The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, who was also present at the occasion solicited for Nigerian prayers for the families of the fallen heroes and heroines who sacrificed their lives fighting Boko Haram and for the motivation of the those in battle field fighting insurgency.
