The host, Steve Harvey, mistakenly announced Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, as the winner of the pageant in front of a wide range television audience on Sunday; after which he later tried explaining his mistake that he had previously misread the result of the pageant to the bewildered audience, who had already welcome the outcome amidst cheers; he asked the audience not to hold it against the contestants but see it as his fault.The Colombian contestant was geogeously crowned, congratulated, at the Las Vegas ceremony and was waving at the fans; but alas! as she blew kisses at the audience , Harvey, an American comedian cum actor, came back to the stage with the announcement of the real winner of the contest and announced Miiss Columbia as the First Runner up instead.
Then the flabbergasted Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Miss Philippines, was however announced as "Miss Universe 2015" as it was on the card initially.
