On Thursday 17 Dec., 28 Nigerians were deported from 3 European countries because they were living in these countries- Italy, Switzerland and Belgium- without valid visas.
According to Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, the News Agency of Nigeria was told that 24 out of the 28 returnees were sent back to Nigeria from Italy 2 from Switzerland and the remaining 2 from Belgium and that the deportees are mainly males flown into the country in a Meridiana Fly aircraft, from Rome.
FAAN source also told NAN that the deportees arrived at the Hajj Camp area of the airport at 7.25 p.m. and were received by Nigerian Immigration Services and other security agencies
It will be recalled that 48 Nigerians were deported from the United Kingdom on Nov.25, for various immigration offences.
