OHANAEZE YOUTHS ASSURE FG; KANU RELEASE TO END PRO-BIAFRA AGITATION

Image Results for "Nnamdi Kanu AND IMAGES OF PROTEST Biafra"The Ohanaeze Ndigbo - the youth wing of the pan Igbo socio-cultural organization commended President Muhammadu Buhari, for listening to the pleas of Ndigbo and other progressive Nigerians in releasing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and Director of Radio Biafra , Nnamdi Kanu.

National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, and Secretary, Nnabuike Okwu; the group said releasing Kanu would go a long way in dousing the tension in the polity and also put an to end the orgy of protests by Biafra agitators which had ravaged most states of the Eastern Nigeria.

OYC therefore impleored pro- Biafra groups to show gratitude to the federal government gesture by putting a stop to further protests for peace in the overall interest of Nigeria and restated its commitment to  broker peace between the federal government and the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, IPOB and other pro Biafra groups to address their differences.

He also asked the federal government to quickly address all forms of injustices against Ndigbo which according to him are the reasons behind the renewed uprising for Biafra and the youth group urged Ndigbo to remain calm and be law abiding citizens.

He said, “Kanu’s detention was not the only reason for protests by MASSOB and IPOB. There are several fundamental issues which must be addressed to heal the wounds of Ndigbo such as the poor state of federal roads in the South East, abandonment of the Enugu coal mine over 43 years, non- inclusion of Abia and Imo youths in the Niger Delta Amnesty deal, amongst others.”
