LAGOS TO LAUNCH ONLINE PLATFORM FOR STATE LAWS

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, announcement on Tuesday at the formal launch of Laws of Lagos State 2015 that the State Government is ready to launch an internet platform where people around the globe can easily have access to the State's enacted laws since 1967 up till date.

He explained that the platform would not only allow investors and interested investors to make informed decision about investing in the State, but would also enable them to appreciate the numerous policies on ground to protect them and their investments.



He said the platform is designed to promote accountability and responsibility and in the process fulfilling the obligation of the government to create easy access to the State laws and be able to download them from any part of the world.

“The publication of the 2015 Laws of the State, marks the beginning of the process of continually making the Laws accessible to the general public not only in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole, but also beyond its borders globally,” he said

The Governor also said that Lagos is always in the fore-front in Nigeria when it comes to legislation and law reform initiatives,and so, it is necessary for the state legislation to be current and relevant and also promise to strengthen the rule of law in the state.
